www.ecclesia.gr hat geschrieben:The Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece convened today, Friday, May 28, 2004, in an extraordinary session under the Presidency of His Beatitude the Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and all Greece, in the boardroom of the Holy Synod, with the following subject on the agenda: “Recent developments on the subject of the observance of the Tome of 1850 and of the Patriarchal Act of 1928 by the Holy Church of Greece”.
...
In His proposals His Beatitude read out the initial agreement, which was reached between the two Presiding Hierarchs and the Greek Government and which reads as follows: “The Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece, in love of Christ and with the steadfast desire of unity with the Great Church of Christ, declares Her respect for and the observance of the Patriarchal Tome of 1850 and all the provisions of the Patriarchal and Synodal Act of 1928”.
And he concluded by proposing that it be accepted by the Hierarchy, and stated characteristically: “Although I would like you to know that, with a sense of responsibility, in order to avert a worse damage at the expense of the Church, and with the vision of the restoration of peace and love, I have assumed to propose to the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy that It accept the solution under consideration with the aforementioned clarifications, nevertheless, the final responsibility, lies with the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy, which is called to express Itself with the perspicacity, prudence and wisdom which characterise It, aiming at the greater interest of the Church and at peace, preserving the unity of the people, averting the division of the body of Hierarchy and warding off any undesired aberration”.
...
The Most Rev. Metropolitans expressed themselves positively and, with interventions loaded with responsibility, praised His Beatitude for his well-substantiated proposals. Indeed, the Most Rev. Metropolitan Theokletos of Ioannina, addressing His Beatitude, stated: “Your Beatitude, today You have been vested with the cloak of a Church Leader, a quality which I never questioned before, either”.
His Beatitude’s proposals were voted unanimously by the entire Hierarchy, save the Most Rev. Metropolitan Amvrosios of Kalavryta.
Offen gesagt ist das eine recht uneindeutige Übertragung aus dem Griechischen.
