Rutter ist in meinen Augen grenzwertig, an manchen Stellen ist da die Grenze zum Kitsch deutlich überschritten. Allerdings hat er mit seinen "Cambridge Singers" wirklich schöne Aufnahmen klassischer englischer Chormusik gemacht.
Man muß sich nur die Liste der enthaltenen Stücke ansehen, und sofort bekommt man einen Eindruck davon, was man in Deutschland alles nicht kennt:
